Auction Highlights From Race Retro Classic and Competition Car Sale 2023 from Silverstone Auctions

Our first chosen lot is this fantastic 1952 Arnott 500 F3. One of nine cars built by Arnott's Garages in Harlesden, this JAP-engined 500 has been a regular in motorsport paddocks for over 70 years. This well presented example of the Arnott 500 is fitted with a Jap 498cc engine mated to a 4-speed Norton clutch and gearbox driving the rear wheels, motorcycle-style, with a chain to the rear axle.

This 1963 Elva Mk VII Lotus Twin Cam is our second chosen lot. It's superbly prepared and patently competitive, this pretty little Mk VII (70/003) has a great pedigree and an equally promising future. Finished in Sunshine Yellow with sky blue and red stripes, this beautiful little Elva appears superbly prepared and is patently competitive. Simple to run, these little sports racers are pretty well guaranteed to punch way above their weight, as they always have done.

This striking red 1968 Chevron B8 - FIA/HTP is our third hand picked lot. Competitive in the right hands, this beautifully prepared car is eligible for a host of exclusive events including Masters, Peter Auto and the Guards Trophy, making it a fantastic lot to win. Often described as one of the greatest racing cars of all time, the B8 was fast, forgiving and delightful.

Our 4th hand picked lot is this gorgeous forest green 1961 Austin Healey 3000 Mk 1 (BT7) built to Rally Spec. Aluminium-bodied BT7 with a factory hard top, fast-road engine, 'Tulip' gearbox and an ARX registration number. Campaigned in historic rally events over the years with great success and remaining in outstanding condition throughout, the opportunity for the winner of this lot has come to continue this venerable Healey's onward journey.

Our last chosen lot is this bright orange 1967 Lotus Elan S3 GTS, Historic Rally Car. Ex-Circuit of Ireland Historic Rally-winning Elan S3GTS. A fast, agile and competitive Historic Rally car professionally constructed, up-to-date and ready to go. This auction was a rare opportunity to take ownership of a highly competitive historic rally car that is proven to have been competitive, has papers up-to-date, is relatively fresh and in the right hands ready to win outright once again.
