First up in our featured lots this week is this wonderful 6 bottle set of Gaja's Costa Russi Barbaresco wine from 2006. This dry, bold red wine from Northern Italy offers earthy, oaky notes that evoke red fruits and coffee. This lot was well sought-after, smashing it's estimate of £1,100 for a final price of £1,800.

Second in this week's auction highlights is this extremely youthful and intense, incredibly fresh and tight 6 bottle set of Louis Roderer's Cristal from 2013. The oak proportion in this wine is relatively high because Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon is aiming for a dry finish which helps ‘stretch the impact of the wine on the palate’ offering citrus elements. It topped it's £1,000 estimate for a hammer price of £1,250.

Next up in our auction highlights from Bid For Wine's latest sale is this exquisite 6 bottle set of Clarendon Hills' Astralis. Sourced from a Southern Australian vineyard planted in 1920, it delivers an ethereal bouquet of smoky oak, violets, espresso, black pepper, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. This harmonious, impeccably balanced wine went above and beyond it's £700 estimate for a final hammer price of £1,000.

Our fourth featured lot comes from Bourdeaux in France and is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. This 12-bottle set is very fine and classic in style, offering dark fruits with a fresh, mineral tone with a great sense of length and drive. It fetched a final hammer price of £850.

Our fifth and final featured lot is this volcanically explosive, dry finish wine from Italy's Fontodi. This 6-bottle set of Flaccianello delle Pieve from 2006 is a wonderful red wine with an extremely aromatic tone of red and black fruits, black cherry, plums and spices, cedar, and earth.
